Pink ribbons

We were not prepared for natural wonder of the Devils Marbles. They quite simply made us gasp.
We asked the kids not to climb them out of respect for the indigenous community. The boys were not sure about this but we explained you wouldn't jump on a war memorial or climb onto a grave. Then they began to understand.
I found it telling on my walk this morning that little pink marker ribbons denoted the paths around and through the marbles.

it made me wonder at our disconnect from the land that we needed these guides, we can no longer trust our instincts to guide us we can't read the natural signs and clues that surround us.
As I enjoyed the sun set and this morning the sun rise I paused to think of all the generations before me who have come to this magical, sacred place to meet and share.

  1. Ciao Claudia, the first photo is freaking me out big time because yesterday I was at the dentist for check up and cleaning and for one full hour I was sitting in the chair trying to concentrate on a framed picture of 2 boulders and it is exactly the same!! (minus the man) . We were at the same place at the same time, you physically, me mentally. This is crazy! BACI CIAO !! Lorenza
